Music Therapy Helps Twin Girls Fight Leukemia (Video)

Four year old twins Ashley and Samantha are in the fight of their lives, the fight against Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a fast-growing form of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. In Samantha and Ashley's cases, the cancer was identified in tumors found in Ashley's abdomen and Samantha's spine. Their mother, Monique, was instructed by her doctors in Jupiter, Florida, to take the young girls to Miami Children's Hospital to give them the best chance of fighting this rare form of Leukemia.

Leukemia

The girls have gone through difficult chemotherapy since being diagnosed eight months ago and that's where Evelyn Laguardia, a Board Certified Music Therapist at Miami Children's Hospital, comes in. Music Therapy has proven to help not only children but their parents cope with difficult hospital stays. That said, here's the latest in a continuing series of videos I've been producing for Miami Children's Health Foundation, who raise funds and awareness for Miami Children's Hospital. Oh, and with September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (#GoGold4CURE), you can help in the fight (and support the Music Therapy Program) by visiting mchf.org/donate.

So if you haven't done so already, scroll back up and check out the video...
