It’s the end of the year and what a year it’s been. As with every year, we had our share of good days, great days, and challenging days. All in all, however, we managed to get through 2013 with more good/great days than challenging ones. Blessed, yes?
This past year, my teenage daughter submitted a poem to the Live Poets Society of New Jersey as part of their Just Poetry!!! quarterly publication; the subject was
“Of Faith and Inspiration”. Her poem, “Blessed” was chosen as one of the Topical Winners and published in their Fall 2013 publication. Needless to say, we were very proud of our little (big) girl and today, I’m sharing her poem with all of you.
May you have a blessed 2014…
BLESSED
Blessed are the broken, for they will know the true meaning of being fixed.
Blessed are the flexible, for they will not be bent out of shape.
Blessed are the blind, for they will see better than any of us.
Blessed are the trustworthy, for they will be trusted.
Blessed are the innocent, for they will be pure.
Blessed are the sick, for they will be cured.
Blessed are those who write, for they will be written about.
Blessed are the passionate, for their passion will be carried out.
Blessed – who am I to say who is blessed?
Who am I to say that the blind man will know the true meaning of vision?
Who am I to say that the innocent man hasn’t been imprisoned?
We are all blessed in one way or another,
even though we might have the same life as our neighbor or brother.
I am blessed to have air in my lungs, and to be able to sleep at night.
Blessed are you and me, for we live in a beautiful thing called “life”.
Like us on facebook and you’ll make us really happy; we’re not sure why, though, but studies have shown that people who like our facebook page are 37% cooler than people who don’t…
