Classic Movie Poster REDUX: Ferris Bueller's Day Off [1986]

This week's poster is a REDUX of one of the all-time classic teen comedies, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, by illustrator Jay Ryan. The film, which was written and directed by the late John Hughes and starred Matthew Broderick in his most popular role, was one of the top grossing films of the year.

The 1961 Ferrari GT California (shown on the poster and featured in the film) was one of only 100 made. "The insert shots of the Ferrari were of the real 250 GT California," director John Hughes explains in the DVD commentary, "The cars we used in the wide shots were obviously reproductions. There were only 100 of these cars, so it was way too expensive to destroy. We had a number of replicas made. They were pretty good, but for the tight shots I needed a real one, so we brought one in to the stage and shot the inserts with it."

See you next week...
