Marcelo Claure is President, Chairman & CEO of Brightstar, the world’s largest specialized wireless distributor and a leading global services company. Since its founding in 1997, Marcelo has grown Brightstar from a small Miami-based distributor into a global business, with $6.3 billion in net revenue for the year ended 2012. Claure, who was born in La Paz, Bolivia, started Brightstar by re-selling cell phones throughout Latin America. Forbes recognized the company as the 58th largest privately held company in the U.S. in 2012, and Brightstar has been ranked as the largest Hispanic-owned business five out of the last six years.
Claure celebrated his 43rd birthday last week with an 80s themed party at his home in Miami Beach. New York based 80s cover band Jessie’s Girl, featuring former American Idol standout Constantine Maroulis, provided the live entertainment. Oh, and Marc Anthony also stopped by.
And guess who was called in to produce the video of the event? Yeah, me. Enjoy…
