Miami Children's Health Foundation: Gracie's Story

When her mother was still 11 weeks pregnant with her, Gracie was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Soon after, doctors discovered something else - she also had a complex congenital heart defect that would require surgery shortly after birth. Gracie’s parents immediately took to the internet and began researching the top pediatric heart surgeons in the country and one name kept coming up - Dr. Redmond Burke, Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Gracie is almost two years old now, is walking, beginning to talk and ready to take on the world. But her remarkable story doesn't stop there - watch the video for more...

Gracie's Story is the latest in a series of Patient of the Month videos I've been producing for Miami Children's Health Foundation who raise funds and awareness for for Miami Children's Hospital. To help children like Gracie, please visit www.mchf.org/donate.
