Can you imagine your newborn child being rushed to the hospital because he’s not able to breathe on his own? That’s what happened to Ralph and Claudia when their son Ralphie was born. He was rushed via Life Flight from the hospital he was born in to Miami Children’s Hospital before his mother even had a chance to hold him.
Thanks to Miami Children’s Hospital’s Critical Care team in their PICU and ECMO program, which was the first of its kind to treat pediatric patients in Florida, Ralphie’s parents have quite a story to tell.
Here’s Ralphie’s story, the latest in a continuing series of videos I’ve been producing for Miami Children’s Health Foundation, who raise funds and awareness for Miami Children’s Hospital.
