Our weekly movie poster showcase continues with the winner of the Academy Award for “Best Picture” (and “Best Original Screenplay” nomination for Sylvester Stallone) of 1976. John G. Avildsen’s “Rocky” gets the “redux” treatment by London-based artist Olly Moss.

I saw ROCKY at a screening at MGM before any word-of-mouth. When that amazing score began with those GIANT letters moving across the screen, we knew we were in for something cool. We were not disappointed.
Love that poster re-do…inspired by the Vertigo poster?
This artist does seem to be influenced by Bronx-born artist Saul Bass who designed the movie posters for “Vertigo” & “The Man with the Golden Arm” and “Bunny Lake is Missing” to name a few…

I love it.
Can’t stop watching Rocky. Except III. Don’t dig III.
Rocky III wasn’t that bad (actually saw it in the theater). Now, IV and beyond started to get silly. But the first is one of my all-time faves…
IV has value of being a bad movie. I would watch the part where they workout on loop for comedy alone. My issue with III is that I don’t like to relive what happens in the movie, not that I think it’s a bad film.
