Video of the Week: Flying Lotus - "Until The Quiet Comes"

We're kicking off our 2013 "Video of the Week" series with a mesmerizing short film from Los Angeles based What Matters Most, a co-operative of artists looking to elevate each other’s work through a collective process. This haunting film features new music from Los Angeles beat producer Flying Lotus in support of his new album "Until The Quiet Comes".

Directed by Kahlil Joseph and shot on 35mm in the infamous Nickerson Gardens projects in Los Angeles, the film offers some unsettling imagery of life in one of the most violent, drug infested, crime riddled neighborhoods in the country. The visually striking cinematography and the Flying Lotus music score (which features Erykah Badu) make the film beautiful and poetic at the same time. Just watch it, yes?

Oh, and Happy New Year.
