This past month, we took a family trip to beautiful Rincón, Puerto Rico to attend my father-in-law’s 80th birthday. A special dinner for him was held at Villa Cofresi, a cozy family owned hotel and reataurant right on the beach in Rincón. During our stay, our dear friend and GM of the hotel made arrangements for us to go parasailing (the first time for any of us) on the last day of our trip. It was late afternoon when we arrived at Flying Fish Parasail in Rincón for our “flight”. Always the filmmaker, I brought along my Canon XF100 (a terrific little camera that produces some wonderful images with the proper lighting), my Panasonic GH2 and a fisheye lens. Oh, and did I mention the sunset?
Here’s the video. Enjoy…

Rincón is known as the “town of beautiful sunsets” and is located in the northwest corner of Puerto Rico, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea. It’s a special place for me as my very first documentary film, The Motivator: The Business of Selling Hope made its world premier at the Rincón International Film Festival (it also took home the “Director’s Choice” Award) back in 2008. If you plan on visiting Puerto Rico, think about making a stop in this lovely surfing town – you won’t be sorry.
